Nick Phillips is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a clinical practice exclusively devoted to shoulder and elbow surgery. He has an adult and paediatric NHS practice based at University Hospital of South Manchester, Wythenshawe. Appointed as a Consultant in 2003, his practice is dedicated to both elective and traumatic conditions of the upper limb.
He treats all aspects of both soft tissue and degenerative shoulder, elbow and wrist disorders, mostly using minimally-invasive (arthroscopic) techniques . He also performs a significant number of total shoulder a total elbow replacements each year, with full compliance with the requirements of the National Joint Registry.
Fellowship -trained in Australia with a highly regarded sports injury upper limb surgeon, he has experience in treating elite sportsmen, as well as the keen amateur or keep-fit enthusiast.
Nick regularly teaches on training courses in the UK, and is an Honorary Lecturer at The University of Salford.He has been invited to talk at the British Orthopaedic Association and European Federation of Orthopaedic Research and Trauma in January 2008 on elbow injuries, he is core faculty on 2 national arthroscopic teaching courses for both shoulder and elbow techniques.
He consults privately at the Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle and at the Manchester Spire Hospital, Didsbury.
